Governor Executive Orders

  • Executive Order S-19-06, October 12, 2006
    Created the California Maritime Security Council (CMSC) to enhance coordination and information sharing between the federal, State and local governments at California ports.

  • Executive Order S-04-06, April 2006
    Established the Governor’s Emergency Operations Executive Council (GEOEC) to improve State agency coordination and overall State preparedness.

  • Executive Order S-2-05, February 2005
    Directs the Offices of Emergency Services and Homeland Security to integrate the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and California Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) to help provide a consistent nationwide template to enable federal, State, local, tribal governments and private-sector to work together.

  • Executive Order D-67-03, February 2003
    Created the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security with the mission to prevent and prepare for terrorist attacks to California through information analysis, planning and research, critical infrastructure protection, citizen preparedness, grant management, training and exercises.
