Jack Hagan
State of California's primary advisor to the Director, Office of Homeland Security on Homeland Security Exercise and Training matters. Directs a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency staff of military and civilian subject matter experts in developing, coordinating, and producing exercises and training for California's fifty-eight counties, five Urban Area Security Initiative cities, and six hundred fifty thousand emergency responders to respond to terrorist attacks involving weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and catastrophic natural disasters. Produces the annual State wide exercise series Golden Guardian.
Previous Positions
Special Agent in the California Bureau of Investigation, California Department of Justice with assignments on the Sexual Predator Apprehension Team, the Major Crime Team, and as the regional office Rangemaster.
Twenty-eight years of active duty as a Marine Infantry Officer. Fifteen years of command experience in positions ranging from Rifle Platoon Commander to Infantry Battalion Commander. Additional assignments in recruiting, recruit training, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, and in special operations capable units. Officer in Charge, Special Operations Training Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendelton, California. Directed the special operation training of Marine Expeditionary Unit prior to their deployment to the Persian Gulf. Served in the Republic of Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Operation Restore Hope, Somalia.
Currently a Brigadier General and the Commanding General of the California State Military Reserve. Decorations: Legion of Merit, eleven other personal decorations, and numerous campaign and service medals.
