Frank Calvillo
Frank Calvillo was appointed in June 2007 to serve as the Chief of Staff/Chief Deputy Director for Operations for the California Office of Homeland Security. In his current position he is responsible for aiding the director in his implementation of the state's strategy to prevent terrorism and the investment of federal and state homeland security funds to protect against, and prepare for, all-hazards. He has 20 years of experience in the intelligence, telecommunications, information assurance and defensive information operation disciplines. Prior to his appointment Frank served in the active-duty Marine Corps and retired after completing 20 years of service. While on active duty he held the positions of executive officer and operations officer at Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Sacramento; Marine Corps information assurance liaison officer at the National Security Agency; executive officer at Company B, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion; operations officer and information systems management officer at Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay, HI; intelligence chief at Marine Corps Aircraft Group 12, Iwakuni, Japan; intelligence analyst at US Southern Command, Republic of Panama; and intelligence analyst at 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade (Special Operations Capable) during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He began his career with the Marine Corps as an enlisted all-source intelligence analyst with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). He attended the University of Maryland and he maintains a Certified Information Systems Security Professional credential.
